Lewis-Fontaine family papers, 1776-1965.

The collection consists of photocopies of typescript copies of various items, 1776-1965, pertaining to the Lewis and Fontaine families including obituaries, news clippings, Bible records, DAR and Huguenot Society papers. Also included are an 1835 letter of James J.W.H. Lewis of Breckinridge, Ky. describing the limestone caves of the area, and family memories, 1878-1880, of James L. Fairleigh of Meade Co., Ky. discussing the settlement of Brandonburg, Ky. in the 1820s, court days, schooling, and anecdotes about various friends and relatives.
